Project Controller / Financial Analyst (0,8 / 1,0 FTE)

Stibbe has a current vacancy for a Project Controller/Financial Analyst in its Finance & Collections department.


Your duties will include the following:

You will act as the link between the Finance & Collections department, Business Development, and the business itself, and you will work closely with the legal practice groups, on financial elements such as calculating business cases, pitches, and advising on pricing. You will also analyse, discuss and report on project results with the business. You will furthermore be responsible for the implementation, development and maintenance of Project Management (largely supported by an application of our financial package), assist in the design and further development of automated reports to the board, partners, fee earners and support staff groups, among others. In addition, you will support budgets and the monthly and annual closings, and investigate and implement efficiency and process improvements.


The team

You will be part of the Finance & Collections department in this role. You will work closely with and serve as the back-up to the Senior Controller. You will report to the Senior Controller and the CFO. The Finance & Collections department is managed by the CFO.


Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate with a completed HBO (higher professional education) diploma. You should furthermore have approximately four years of relevant work experience in a finance department. You are well versed in accountancy and have a special interest in financial analyses, as well as affinity with IT.  You are service-oriented, commercially minded, strong on content, able to work independently, and have a good verbal and written command of both Dutch and English.

  • you are able to structure figures;
  • you have project-based skills;
  • you have excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • you are able to describe and communicate the facts behind the figures;
  • you are a financial sparring partner for both the business and the supported staff departments;
  • affinity with Business Development is a plus;
  • you have above-average knowledge of Excel, VBA and/or SQL;
  • you have strong analytical skills and numerical insight;
  • you will identify issues that can be improved;
  • you are able to work independently, but are also a real team-playerr;
  • you are accurate; and
  • you are flexible.
